With age, hormonal changes, and sun exposure, the skin develops areas of irregular pigmentation and dark spots. Therefore, most of us have some form of pigmented lesion, especially as we age, and while it does not represent a medical problem, it is true that those who have them would like to eliminate them.

Until now, the therapeutic options used to treat pigmentation disorders included depigmenting creams, chemical peels, laser devices, intense pulsed light (IPL), or a combination of these. Chemical peels and deep laser treatments have a known risk of causing pigmentation changes in patients with darker skin.

For benign pigmented lesions removal, picosecond laser technology has the advantage of working through pressure waves that break down the pigment with minimal thermal effect. Therefore, it does not burn the skin, allowing for safe removal of spots.

By lightening or removing spots on the face, décolletage, or hands, our skin will appear more radiant, even, and youthful.
